Elaine Walters, Bassoon
Elaine Mee-Sun Walters studied for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a Master of Music degree with distinction from DePaul University in Chicago, Ill. In addition, she holds Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Biology from the University of New Mexico. Her performance experience includes work with the Auburn Symphony Orchestra, Bellevue Philharmonic/Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Sinfonietta, Symphony Tacoma, Seattle Choral Company, Orquestra Sinfonica in Monterrey, Mexico, Concertante di Chicago, Chicago Civic Orchestra and the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. She taught privately and coached chamber ensembles at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was a faculty member at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Elaine has also served as the Executive Director for the Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra and still serves as its personnel manager. Additionally, she worked for NPR as an on-air announcer. Currently, Elaine coaches for Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras, Seattle Collaborative Orchestra and multiple schools in the Puget Sound area and is a founder/performer for the Agermos Chamber Music Project.
