Swiatoslav Kuznik, violin

Swiatoslaw Kuznik received doctorate in violin performance at the University of Maryland, College Park. He finished his master of music degree in violin performance at the Frederick Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, and graduate performance diploma at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington. Dr. Kuznik is a member of the Maryland Symphony, performs with the Concert Artist of Baltimore, and is a founding member of the Kuznik Piano Trio. He has performed with the New World Symphony Orchestra (Florida), the Philharmonic of the Nations (Germany), National Philharmonic, West Virginia Symphony, Alexandria Symphony, Washington Summer Opera Festival, and Lafayette Symphony. Mr. Kuznik performed under the direction of Leonard Slatkin, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Sergiu Comissiona, Antoni Witt, Jerzy Maksymiuk, and Jacek Kaspszyk. Dr. Kuznik served as a concertmaster and the violin faculty at the Siena Summer Session for Music and Arts in Siena University, Italy and he serves as a faculty at the InterHarmony International Music Festival. Among the awards Dr. Kuznik has received are the first place in the Baltimore Music Competition, the Eugene and Eleanor Knapik award at the Indiana University School of Music, and the scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture. Since 2005, he is a music faculty at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson. Dr. Kuznik started Suzuki violin group classes in Towson at Notre Dame Preparatory School based on Mimi Zweig teaching philosophy to which he was introduced in her pedagogy classes at Indiana University and Summer Teacher’s Retreat organized by String Academy at Indiana University. His most influential violin teachers include Elizabeth Adkins, Henryk Kowalski, Zoltan Szabo, Alan de Veritch, Atar Arad, Frederico Agostini, Ik-Hwan Bae, Gerald Fischbach and Tadeusz Wronski.
