Artist Faculty Performance Spotlight
Agustin Muriago, piano
Pianist Agustin Muriago is a Yamaha Artist and serves as Assistant Professor of Keyboard Skills at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he coordinates the Keyboard Studies area.
Frequently performing in solo, chamber, and concerto settings, Muriago has played in venues such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Yamaha Salon in New York City, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He has recorded for Acte Préalable, Radium Recordings, and for NPR affiliates. His latest recording, “SUR” (Albany Records) features music from his native Argentina and is available on all major streaming platforms.
Muriago has offered recitals, lectures, and master classes at the Juilliard School, New York University, the Catholic University of America, the University of Chile, the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in Beijing, and at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. He adjudicated the MTNA Young Artist Competition and piano competitions in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Connecticut, and New York.
Muriago holds a doctoral degree in piano performance from The Hartt School, and additional degrees in piano performance from New York University and Rowan University. He has held teaching positions at Kansas State University, The Hartt School Community Division, and New York University.
Highlights for the 2024-2025 season include concerto performances with Trinity Chamber Orchestra and the Pan American Symphony Orchestra, as well as performances at Lincoln Center in New York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
