Janeta Mavrova, violin


Janeta Mavrova was born in Bulgaria into a family of professional musicians. She began her studies at the age of four with her acceptance to the National School of Music and Arts in Varna, Bulgaria. After graduation, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the National Conservatory in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Ms. Mavrova continued her studies at the Florida State University with prof. Eloit Chapo (long time concertmaster of New York Philharmonic Orchestra), and prof. Beth Newdome, earning a Master’s Degree of Violin Performance.

A charismatic and devoted teacher with more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Janeta Mavrova has a long list of competition-winning students in the New Orleans area. Many of her pupils have received scholarships from universities and prestigious summer festivals throughout the US.

Ms. Janeta has been a member of Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra since 2007, under the baton of maestro Klaus Peter Seibel and Carlos Miguel Prieto. She has collaborated with names such as Yo-Yo Ma, Itzkah Perlman, Placido Domingo, Joshua Bell and others.

She has been a faculty member of different summer music festivals, including Varna Summer Festival in Bulgaria, the Intense Program of the International Music Institute and Loyola Summer Festival in New Orleans.

Ms. Mavrova maintains a big violin studio in New Orleans. She also gives online instructions to students throughout Europe and China.
