
Rosa Villar-Córdova Scott, piano
Rosa Villar-Córdova Scott’s has been widely recognized as an artist of profound sensibility. Since her debut with the National Orchestra of Peru at the age of twelve, her talents as a pianist and collaborator have brought her to stages across America, Europe and South America.
The Peruvian-Spanish pianist has been an award recipient in the National Society of Arts and Letters, Central Florida Symphony Concerto Competition, Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition and Tutte le Corde (Music after 1950), among others in the United States. Also, in her native country of Perú she received the first prize at the Peruvian National Concerto Competition and the Southern Perú Corporation Music Award. Especially of note are her performances as soloist with orchestras in both South America and the United States. She has performed Concerti under the baton of Matteo Pagliari, Jorge Vazquez and Miguel Hart-Bedoya and collaborated with members of the Cleveland Orchestra, The Amernet Quartet and the Miami String Quartet. She has been a guest artist at the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival and the Zenith Chamber Music Festival and guest lecturer at the Palmetto International Piano Festival. Ms. Scott’s Graduate Studies include: The Manhattan School of Music, New York University and Boston Conservatory at Berkley. Her major artistic influences include studies with pianists Elena Ichikawa, Teresa Quesada, Susan Starr, Kemal Gekic, Nina Svetlanova, Marylene Mouquet, Miyoko Lotto and Dr. Jonathan Bass. Ms. Scott keeps an active schedule as a performer, composer and teacher. Her students have received full scholarships to major conservatories, have appeared as guest soloists with orchestra, and have won numerous international piano competitions. She is a member of the piano faculty at the University of Miami Frost School of Music Preparatory Program, Music Director at All Saints Parish in Des Moines, Iowa and the founder and artistic director of the Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition.
