Giancarlo De Lorenzo Biography

Conductor and founder since 1992 of the Vox Auræ Orchestra of Brescia, he is dedicated to the rediscovery and in-depth study of little-known authors of Baroque music such as F.Durante, F.L.Gassmann, J. Myslyvecek. In 2003 he was appointed Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, a position he held until December 2011. With this orchestra, over the years, he performs numerous concerts in Italy and abroad.

His 30-year career has led him to collaborate with many internationally renowned soloists and to conduct prestigious Italian and foreign orchestras including the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Munchen, London Mozart Players, O. S. of Istanbul, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, O.S. of Sofia, O. S. de Bilbao, and O. S. of Prague.

In 2015 he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese in the Cappella Paolina of the Quirinale Palace in the presence of President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

In the opera field, he has conducted various productions including "Le Nozze di Figaro" by W.A. Mozart, "Rigoletto" by G. Verdi, "la Serva Padrona" by G.B. Pergolesi, "Il Signor Bruschino" by G. Rossini, "Elisir d' Amore" by G . Donizetti, "Traviata" by Giuseppe Verdi. Since January 1, 2015, he has held the position of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the San Remo Symphony Orchestra, one of the oldest and most prestigious musical entities in Italy.
