Taras Krysa will make his InterHarmony debut as conductor of the InterHarmony Festival Orchestra with a TBA program and will be joined by violinist Andrey Baranov and cellist Misha Quint in Session 2 for the Beethoven: Triple Concerto.

Taras Krysa is a Ukrainian-born, American conductor celebrated for his thoughtful, dynamic, and creatively charged music-making. His interpretations are hailed for their insightful depth and inventive spirit, captivating audiences worldwide. Krysa holds the distinguished positions of Director of Orchestras at UNLV and Music Director of the Las Vegas Sinfonietta, following a successful tenure as the Music Director of the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra and Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
With a reputation for nuanced programming, Krysa curates concerts that transcend the traditional, blending diverse musical styles and eras to create captivating and intellectually stimulating experiences. His performances have been met with critical acclaim, often selling out concert halls and captivating audiences on international tours across Europe and China.
As a conductor, Krysa has led acclaimed performances with prestigious orchestras around the globe, including the National Symphony of Ukraine, Odesa National Philharmonic, Kyiv Chamber Orchestra, Kyiv Soloists, Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra (Poland), Enschede Symphony Orchestra (Netherlands), Middeutsche Kammer Philharmonie (Germany), Slovak Sinfonietta (Slovakia), Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra, Holland Symphony Orchestra (USA), Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Chamber Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Orchestra of Americas and many others. Beyond the podium, Krysa is an accomplished violinist, having performed with esteemed ensembles such as the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony Orchestra. Krysa continues to perform chamber music actively.
Krysa's commitment to promoting new music is evident in his recordings for the Brilliant Classics label, which receiving critical acclaim, he champions contemporary composers alongside the classics. His recordings include a live recording of Freddie Mercury's rock opera, Barcelona, praised as one of the more successful fusions of rock and opera, as well as, 'All Mozart Dances and Minuets' which showcases his dedication to exploring the breadth of musical expression.
Educated at the Manhattan School of Music, Indiana University, and Northwestern University, Krysa studied conducting with Victor Yampolsky and participated in masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Michael Tilson Thomas, Jorma Panula, and David Zinman. His violin studies with Albert Markov, Nelly Shkolnikova, and Sylvya Rosenberg have also shaped his musical identity.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the arts, Krysa received the National Endowment for the Arts (NAC) Award in 2023. His innovative programming, thoughtful interpretations, and dynamic performances bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his musical endeavors. Krysa currently resides in Henderson, Nevada, with his wife Nataliya and their two cats, Siegfried and Brungilda, and enjoys skiing, surfing and collecting stamps in his free time.
